Saturday Links (12/20)

Greetings from the Butts-Mehre athletics offices at UGA. We'll be meeting with Mark Richt for the final time before Orlando in just a few minutes. I'll have practice notes up after that, but I'm then heading out of town to get an early jump on my holiday travel.

I'm hoping to have 1-2 posts per day between now and Orlando, but there may be a few 24-hour dead periods, so don't be too alarmed. In the meantime, be sure to check out Macon.com for more UGA coverage as well.

In the meantime, here are some links...

-- The Lansing State Journal has a story on Georgia's offensive line. I'm not sure who wrote the headline for this, but they deserve a raise.

-- Cleveland Browns fans are hoping Knowshon might be in their future. Let's see... Stafford to Detroit, Knowshon to Cleveland. Yeah, maybe there is a pretty good case to be made for them spending another year in Athens.

-- Ed Tant writes that Jan Kemp deserves a statue on campus like Vince Dooley got.

-- Former Bulldog Pete Case died at the age of 67.

-- The Houston Chronicle ranks Matthew Stafford as the top quarterback for the 2009 draft.

-- Loran Smith remembers Georgia's last date with Michigan State.

-- Former Georgia coach Ray Goff spoke to some athletes in Rome (Georgia, not Italy).

-- Bill Gates is forking over some cash to the university... a whole lot of it.

-- And finally, the Washington Post has its list of the best Christmas episodes of TV shows. Personally, I'll take the Festivus episode of "Seinfeld" (although I just watched the one where Elaine dates a communist yesterday, and it's pretty funny). Of course, niether can compete with the Thanksgiving episodes of Cosby (when the Cos keeps getting sent out in the rain for more food) and "Cheers," when the gang gets in a big food fight at Carla's.
