Two Georgia assistant coaches received raises recently as a result of offers from other schools, according to documents provided by the school.
Running backs coach Bryan McClendon received a new contract that increases his annual salary from $90,000 to $200,000.
Receivers coach Tony Ball had his salary increased from $165,480 to $200,000.The raises came in the form of a salary action request; in Ball’s case a box labeled “counter offer” was checked as the reason for the request.
But UGA athletics director Greg McGarity said through spokesman Claude Felton that both raises were the result of counter-offers.
“They were both offered both positions at other schools,” Felton said.
McClendon just completed his second season as the team’s running backs coach, after also serving as a graduate assistant. He lettered four years at Georgia, playing receiver.
Ball has also been in his current position for two years, but spent the previous three seasons as Georgia’s running backs coach.

Sounds like Richt is once again using the football office as his own personal employment agency for his underperforming friends. I can understand Ball's raise somewhat but McClendon's is just nuts considering what his unit did on the field. I wonder what school actually wanted to hire McClendon. But hey, Richt "knows what the Hell he is doing" right?
