Wednesday Scrimmage Stats

I'll have practice notes posted soon, but here's a stats rundown from this morning's scrimmage. Just an FYI, a large number of players (including Aron White, Marlon Brown, Tavarres King, Rennie Curran and Akeem Dent) sat out nursing various minor injuries.

NOTE: I didn't mention this initially, but the scrimmage involved the No. 1 offense going against the No. 2 defense, and vice versa. Sorry for any confusion.

Richard Samuel, 5 carries, 108 yards, 2 touchdowns (long run of 63 yards)
Caleb King, 5-18 (long of 12)
Carlton Thomas, 5-60 (long of 28)
Shaun Chapas, 2-21 (long of 15)
Washaun Ealey, 5-13
Dontavius Jackson, 4-(-6)
Kalvin Daniels, 3-6

Joe Cox, 9-of-13 for 158 yards and 2 TDs
Logan Gray, 6-12-93 and 2 TDs
Aaron Murray, 5-16-52 and 1 TD
Zach Mettenberger, 1-10

Richard Samuel, 1 catch for 70 yards and a TD
A.J. Green, 4 catches, 69 yards, 1 TD
Orson Charles, 3-55 and 2 TDs
Rantavious Wooten, 3-14
Shaun Chapas, 2-20
Arthur Lynch, 2-19 and 1 TD

Marcus Dowtin, Sanders Commings, 7 tackles each
Christian Robinson, 6 tackles
Mike Gilliard, 5 tackles
Makiri Pugh, Rod Battle, 4 tackles each
Jordan Love, Matthew DeGeonova and Geno Atkins, 3 tackles each

Abry Jones, DeAngelo Tyson, Chad Gloer, Jeff Owens, Brandon Boykin and Christian Robinson each had a pass breakup.

Shawn Williams had a fumble recovery.

Marcus Dowtin, Mike Gilliard and Demarcus Dobbs each had half a sack.
Rod Battle had 3.5 sacks.

Back with full notes soon.

Great job. Very timely.

I was just thinking about a 4 WR set including A.J., Brown, Moore and Orson with Aron White at TE. Maybe King/Wooten and move Orson to TE, too. That's just nasty.

I was just smiling at Samuel's stats when I finally made it down to the best line of all:

Rod Battle had 3.5 sacks.

DH - is DJ still there? If so can you ask him how it's looking for in in terms of the pecking order for Atl and if it's make or break for him this pre-season. Shultz at the AJC said he'll get cut if he doesn't secure the #2 spot.

Looks like the depth chart just got shook up! I believe our best two backs are Samuels and Thomas. Great job D.H. And hunker Battle hunker!
