Just watch Murray's release compared to the others. It's more compact, it's .2-.5 seconds faster, and he puts more zip on the ball than even Mett.

All three of them look very good to me, and you can tell what their strongsuits are. Mett looked the most impressive throwing to the sidelines, Logan had the best balls over the middle, and Murray gets it out quick and gets it there with velocity, but he had a couple passes there that were inaccurate (low).

This drill isn't great to judge a release, because they know where they are going with the ball, so they tend to take the snap, turn, and drop their shoulders before the windup because they know where they have to get it to. Murrays game in high school was more of a "throw to the open guy" type of game, where quick recognition and a quick release can do wonders.

And man, it's great seeing Kris out there again. I hope he has a killer senior season.

I thoroughly enjoyed the coverage of the "Kickers and Punters".

Agree with UR--it's great to see Kris out there again. I think we're really gonna need his leadership. Not very impressed with Logan, though. Murray and Mett both seemed to have good zip. Mett appeared to be just tossing it but his velocity was similar to Murray's.

I don't get the Murray love. His footwork looked lazy.

Personally, I don't really believe there's much of a QB "competition" going on at all, except maybe a competition between Gray and Mett for the #2 spot. The feeling ever since Murray's been on campus has been that he's pretty clearly head-and-shoulders above the other QBs in terms of overall talent. The only thing Mett's got going for him is his size (people keep talking about his arm strength, but from everything I've seen, the difference between his arm strength and Murray's is negligible). And all Gray's got is quickness with his legs (but here too, Murray was a solid scrambler in HS too). Barring an injury, Murray's our starting QB this season.

The QB competition is not as open as the coaches are leading everyone to believe, the job is Murray's to lose.I saw one of his high school games on TV against their biggest rival,he was getting knocked down every other play, never got rattled, can throw on the run and is as tough as they come.
