Saturday Links (12/13)

Just a quick batch of links today. Georgia is holding an early practice, after which I need to get some Christmas shopping done. Anyone have any suggestions for my four- and six-year old nieces?

-- 960 the Ref has a conversation with Mark Richt in its latest podcast.

-- Rivals' Anthony Dasher catches up with Benjamin Boyd, who has some big plans once Georgia's bowl game is over.

-- Here's a blast from the past: Carter Strickland is filling in at the AJC while Chip Towers is on vacation. He has a piece wondering which of Georgia's wide receivers can step into the void Mohamed Massaquoi will be leaving behind.

-- Georgia Sports Blog picks its All-SEC team for 2008.

-- Aaron Murray's return to action after a broken leg was a successful one.

-- ESPN's Todd McShay doesn't expect the draft to be kind to Dannell Ellerbe.

-- With the news that various colleges will be coming out with their own fragrances, the good folks at Every Day Should Be Saturday have come up with the perfect formulas for some of the nation's top football programs.

I think it's appropriate to see Pro scouts identify the piss-poor tackling job that Ellerbe demonstrated against Tech. While I want the best for Danny, I hope this spotlights the importance of strong, fundamental tackling skills. There is no excuse for the way Ellerbe and Jones tackled against Tech. None.

That pathetic effort is going to cost Danny alot of $$$.

And you he had to do was tackle. Not PUSH!
