Happy Friday, folks. We're just a day away from Game 2 of the season for the Dawgs -- a game that should give us a much better idea of just how good this team is. Central Michigan won't be Georgia's toughest opponent this year, but as a wise man once told me, never sleep on the MAC.
Before we get into the Xs and Os of Saturday, however, let's check out today's links...
So, have you ever found yourself sitting around and wondering how reporters come up with their story ideas? Well, I'll let you in on a little secret: Most of the time, we're far from original. Take, for example, the story of Georgia's JuCo transfers, Corvey Irvin, Vince Vance and Jarius Wynn. You could read about them today in my newspaper, The AJC, The Chattanooga Times Free Press, the Augusta Chronicle or the Albany Herald. I suggest you read them all, print them out, then cut out your favorite parts and glue them together into some sort of super story.
Speaking of those JuCo transfers, Irvin will wear Jeff Owens' number Saturday, according to the AJC.
The Athens Banner-Herald has a story about Clint Boling's return to the offensive line after serving a one-game suspension. Mark Weiszer also has a Q&A with Central Michigan's Butch Jones in his blog.
UGA recruit Aaron Murray will play tonight on ESPNU.
Vandy is to Steve Spurrier what Spurrier used to be to Georgia.
Mark Richt has a new Web site.
The Redcoat Marching Band will participate in a compeition hosted by ESPN.
Check out this YouTube clip at home with Mark Richt. Oh, and while we're looking at YouTube clips, let's also enjoy The Trampoline Bear, the Boom Goes the Dynomite Guy, a hilarious clip of a reporter falling down, the lovely Miss South Carolina, the Guy Who Ruins Every NFL Season (WARNING: explicit language), an equally entertaining flip-out from Papa Bear O'Reilly, another from Dan Marino, and the always (and by that I mean, never) entertaining Lou Holtz.

So glad someone shares my disdain for Lou Holtz. How on god's green earth could ESPN ever, ever think that his "motivational" segments could make for entertaining tv. I don't even watch College GameDay Final anymore because of him; where am I supposed to get my highlights now? That slobbery SOB took them away from me. Screw you, Lou!
