It's Official: Wilson, Figgins, Houston Out

From UGA Athletics...

Two University of Georgia football players will incur suspensions due to violation of team rules, according to an announcement Saturday by Bulldog head coach Mark Richt.

Junior tight end Bruce Figgins has received a six-game suspension and redshirt sophomore defensive end Justin Houston has been suspended for two games. A third player, junior wide receiver Tony Wilson, also violated team rules; however, he is in the process of being medically disqualified from competition due to slow recovery from a severe ankle injury originally suffered in the spring of 2008.

"I'm very disappointed in the poor judgment of these players," said UGA head coach Mark Richt. "They'll have to pay an appropriate price and I'm confident they will learn an important lesson from their mistake."

That's extremely disappointing to see our brightest DE make such a poor judgement call in his young career. I hope we'll be able to replace him against OK State and Arkansas, although I fear we won't.

This off-field crap needs to be fixed ASAP!!!!!!!

Our coach is too busy whining and bitching about playing FLorida in Jacksonville than to instill the fear of God in his players for screwing up......again!

Sorry to rant, but I'm really doubting our coaches backbone and will to get tough on certain issues.

Anon @ 6:42

Coaches have limited to no contact with the players during the off-season. It ain't day camp. At some point, the players have to be responsible for themselves.

Anon @ 6:42,

Kindly go be a fan of some other team.

Or shut up.

Either one.

Anyone doubting CMR after what he's done in his 8+ years at UGA is a buffoon.

Anon 6:42,
GFY. I've been a fan long enough to know that our coach is the 3rd consecutive to not know how to beat Florida. And is making pathetic excuses for it!

No one is doubting what CMR has done. We should all be very thankful for the overall body of work. But I, and the majority of GA fans, will not accept these weak-sauce arguments for losing to Florida.

Boys will be boys and sometimes you have to cut someone loose. But don't ever tell a Dawg fan with a legit argument to shut up. Thank GOD you're not within swinging distance ahole.
