NOTES:
* These measurements are all courtesy of Keith Gray of the UGA S&C staff. Each scout will use their own stuff so not sure what's "official" but these are definitely as close as you'll get.
* Don't ask me what the heck "20," "60," and "L Drill" are. Perhaps if someone knows they can leave it in the comments.
* IND denotes player used combine score rather than Pro Day
* Only better results included for weights and run times
* Brown injured hamstring DNP in second 40 time and shuttle runs
* Chandler DNP in bench press due to a shoulder injury
* Ellerbe DNP in bench due to a right pectoral injury
* Moreno's first 40 was a 4.60

I read somewhere yesterday - and I could've sworn it was on this blog - that Stafford measured at 6' 1.25" yesterday. Did he grow 1.25", or are UGA's "official" numbers inflated?

OK, I looked around, and I can't find that height for Stafford on your blog. Maybe I saw it on the AJC site somewhere. But I definitely did see his height listed somewhere at 6' 1.25". And I saw a reference in an AJC photo gallery that said he "measured a shade over 6-1".

What's the use of UGA having a pro day if the numbers they publish are gonna be the same inflated crap that they put in the program?

I doubt that they are "inflated." That's the official measurement from the day, I'm certain. Those numbers during the weigh-ins were just being shouted out, so what you heard earlier may not have been 100 percent accurate. Even so, the hts and wts that teams use -- and this is in all sports -- are often a bit short of accurate.

I'll try not to beat this dead horse too much...

I understand the numbers for height and weight that the teams put in their publications are often "optimistic", shall we say. That's why the numbers for height and weight that come out of the combine are always interesting.

But I guess I was expecting the "official" pro day numbers published by the university to be the real deal - not the same stuff that they put in the game program.

Anyway...enough of that. Thanks for the great coverage you provided. I was hanging on your every twitter...

I should have probably been a little more clear... I think that measurement is pretty accurate. It was scouts, not the team, doing the measuring. So unless the S&C guy for UGA simply wrote down a different measurement than the scout announced, it's what Staff measured. Now, it was a crazy scene in there, and the numbers were just being shouted out, so perhaps a media source or another scout simply jotted down something different. Hard to say. But I really don't think there's much subterfuge going on there.

I think I've made a mountain out of a molehill on this one. I went back and looked at some combine results, and they had him at 6' 2.25" So I guess I had some bad information. It's those dang unreliable blogs, ya know :-)

Anyway...sorry for the trouble, and thanks for the response. It is neat for us fans to be able to get information so quickly from someone who is a lot closer to the situation.
