A Picture Tells A Thousand Words

OK, I was trying to be an optimist today and let you end your work week on a bright note.

But then I saw this and you need to see it, too. (h/t Senator, and big thanks to Dawgs Online)

Come on, this is ridiculous.

So Mark Richt admits that the kickoff team is really, really, super duper young and inexperienced and doesn't know what they're doing 90 percent of the time.

So Jon Fabris challenges them by kicking off out of the huddle, and THIS is the result.

And let's not forget to mention that, while the ball went in the air while the coverage team was six yards shy of the line of scrimmage, they also LINED UP IN AN ILLEGAL FORMATION.

Seriously, it's a kickoff. Why does it have to be treated like rocket science?

pitiful...and there is experience on that kickoff team as well. Who do you blame this on other than the coaches most specifically CMR.

An onside kick may have worked out better.

I'd like to see CMR compare our kickoff team to the gators. Urban meyer calls his special teams 'all-star teams' and considers it a privilege to be on them. He puts his 'best' players on them. there's another reason we got blown out last year by them

What the heck would kicking from a huddle accomplish anyway? The defenders still have 10-15 yards to figure out who they are going to block.

Strike that. They have 16-21 yards to figure out who to block since our guys are 6 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

If we lose to Tennessee, can anyone say 6 & 6?

David, this is what I am talking about. I am an optimist by nature. But I wrote about this the other day. Things are not adding up correctly. Who makes these decisions??? I have always been a huge COACH MARK RICHT supporter. And still have 00000 desire for another guy running our program. But I just wanna know who makes certain decisions. And by no means do I or 99.9% of the readers of this blog know more football than any of the people on the staff at UGA. But sometimes its not about football, its about making quality decisions during stressful times. And some people no matter the greatness of there knowledge don't respond well to certain things. Remember those guys that were very smart in school but didn't test well !!!!

that picture shows why Fab needs to be fired. Plain and simple. Hey, why not give up an extra 5-6 yrds on the kickoff? Unbelieveable

I now have a better understanding of why we never see our players on the TV screen on the kickoffs before the receiver reaches about the 25.
