Jancek Named Defensive Co-Coordinator

From UGA Athletics...

University of Georgia linebacker coach John Jancek has been named co-coordinator for the Bulldog defense according to UGA head coach Mark Richt.

"Willie Martinez is our defensive coordinator and as co-coordinator, John has been and will continue to be instrumental in our game planning on the defensive side of the ball," said Richt.

Jancek is beginning his fifth season with the Bulldogs after joining the staff in 2005. He was recently offered the defensive coordinator position at the University of South Florida but decided to remain with the Bulldogs. A graduate of Grand Valley State University, Jancek held defensive coordinator coaching positions at Wayne State University, Grand Valley, and Central Michigan prior to coming to Georgia.

Is this some sort of bad joke?

David, you must be getting warmed up for April Fool's Day.

Surely this is a joke, right?

I am literally typing this as I stand beside myself.

This cannot be serious.

Wonder and befuddlement.

You are kidding right? Jancek over Garner? If I'm Garner I am super pissed.

Garner isn't the answer as a Co-DC. Jancek isn't the greatest LB coach but is a very good defensive mind.
Garner?!??!he isn't the swiftest boat in the race.

Is this actually going to mean something more than a title?! Will he actually be able to override CWM's decision to play a prevent D the entire game?!

It's just a reward for turning down the DC job at USF. Chill, folks.
