Starting center Ben Jones will have to get a knee scoped on Sunday and will be out at least a couple weeks. But head coach Mark Richt said he expects Jones to be back for a full week of practice leading up to the Sept. 4 opener against Louisiana-Lafayette.
Still, it's the latest injury on a unit that was supposed to be the most stable on Georgia's football team.
Starting guard Cordy Glenn is out with mononucleosis. And Josh Davis has an ankle injury, which he sustained in the first scrimmage Tuesday, then tried to fight through on Saturday but finally gave up.
The Bulldogs expect everyone back for the opener. But they scrimmaged Saturday with only two projected starters, a big reason the first-team offense struggled against the second-team defense.
The only good news was that Trinton Sturdivant, coming off consecutive knee surgeries, saw his first live action of the year on Saturday.

OL injuries piling up

As much praise as there has been for our OL, apparently we don't have any depth. Any time I have read about the 2nd team OL, they have gotten shredded. It just goes to show you how much we can't have ANY injuries on the OL. I hope the 3 guys that are injured now heal up and prepare to go iron man for the rest of the season.
This is not a good sign! We have struggles for 2 years with our O-line. Now more injures/illness. Could be a long, rough season!
oh man,let the excuses begin.I'm not sure if I can stomach another season like last year, couldn't wait for it to start, after it finally did, couldn't wait for it to be over.Great teams don't rebuild, they just reload, not sure Dawgs will ever reach that level with CMR.

Shut up.
Anon 9:30 is a hater, not a fan. Just ignore fools like this, probably a rival teenager.
Jason, we have plenty of depth. Don't know why you say that based on 2nd team Ol against #1 D. We are two deep with starting experience. Sure we want the best guys in there, but Ol and TE are not areas of concern.
