And for your football fix ...

Don't worry, I'm sure this won't be the final blog post about football the rest of the day.

Before anyone asks, yes I've heard that Georgia may be closing in on a new offensive line coach. UAB's Will Friend, a former Alabama lineman, is getting the most mention, but I haven't been able to confirm anything.

As of 10 a.m., Georgia didn't have anything imminent to announce. Spokesman Claude Felton said head coach Mark Richt was heading to New York for a clinic on Friday, assuming the weather cooperates. UAB spokesman Norm Reilly also said there was no news on his end. That doesn't mean there couldn't be an announcement on Friday, it just means ... well who knows.

Meanwhile, ESPN.com is out with a post-signing day top 25, and guess where Georgia comes in? The Bulldogs are No. 18, a reflection of their recruiting haul.

Mark Schlabach, who compiled the list, writes:

The Bulldogs remain in the hunt for juco defensive tackle Jonathan Jenkins, who will sign with either UGA or Florida on Saturday and could be the key to coordinator Todd Grantham's 3-4 scheme. Georgia plays only three true road games (at Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt) and plays Boise State in Atlanta and Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.

Georgia's first two opponents, Boise State and South Carolina, check in at No. 8 and No. 15, respectively, on that list.

Thanks for the fix. This part of the offseason always has me twitching like a crack head.

Wow! If we open 2-0 against teams rated that high, we should vault into the top 12 or so...fingers crossed
