Rainey in, Sturgis out for Gators

As expected, Chris Rainey has been reinstated and will play for Florida on Saturday, Gators head coach Urban Meyer announced on Thursday evening.

Meyer also said Rainey, who has been suspended for five games after his aggravated stalking charge, will play "50-50" between tailback and receiver.

Tailbacks Jeff Demps and Mike Gilleslee are also "100 percent," Meyer said at his Thursday media availability in Gainesville.

However, in a bit of a surprise, kicker Caleb Sturgis has been ruled out. Sturgis aggravated his back injury in practice on Wednesday.

That's potentially a big loss for the Gators, who have been using punter Chas Henry to kick. Henry, you may remember, missed a couple field goals in Florida's 10-7 home loss to Mississippi State.

Expected but, still unreal. I just can't imagine how Corch justified this one in his head. I agree so much with the columnist that stated Corch should consider what he would do if Rainey had done this to his daughter.

Oh, c'mon Rainey said he really didn't text that.....don't you believe him? CUM (how appropriate) believes it.......oh yeah, he's also lost 3 games in a row so now Chris Rainey will play....

In the end, will it really matter who is actually on the field for the Gaytors? 3 wins in 20 years. That spells mental issues for the Dawgs. And not just CMR. This now seeps into the player ranks. So, Saturday night as we all wonder just how another opportunity slipped by while nursing yet another bourbon and coke, we can rest assured that it was not just one Gaytor that made a difference.
