Two More Arrests

Two Georgia players were suspended following alcohol-related incidents and a third former player was arrested Saturday morning, according to the university and the Athens-Clarke County jail.

Former Bulldog and Stratford Academy alum Michael Lemon was arrested and charged with underage drinking Saturday morning, according to a spokeswoman from the Athens-Clarke County jail. Lemon, a defensive end, had been dismissed from the team last month after an arrest on charges of aggravated battery.

Junior safety Donovan Baldwin was hospitalized and senior long snapper Jeff Henson was arrested Saturday morning as well, and both have been suspended indefinitely from the team, according to a university news release.

Henson was arrested on an alcohol-related charge, while Baldwin was injured in a fight in downtown Athens. He was treated at a local hospital, according to the school.

Both Henson and Baldwin had been arrested within the past 12 months as well. Henson was arrested on driving under the influence charges in November, causing him to miss the Sugar Bowl. Baldwin was also arrested on DUI charges in January.

This is the second incident for (Baldwin and Henson) in the last year, Georgia head coach Mark Richt said. In my judgment their standing with the program is in question and they don t deserve to report with the rest of our team on Sunday.

Henson had been Georgia s primary long snapper on punts the past two seasons, while Baldwin has played in 20 games since 2006.

Lemon, who appeared in eight games for the Bulldogs last season, was dismissed from the team in July after a fellow Georgia student claimed he had been attacked by Lemon.

Richt had recently called the decision to dismiss Lemon the hardest of his career at Georgia and said he hoped Lemon was on a path back to the team.

We are trying to provide a path that could lead him back to Georgia, Richt said during SEC Media Days last month.

CORRECTION: Baldwin was suspended for the incident and admitted to the hospital, but was not arrested. No police reports were made available last night, so I went by the UGA news release, which was unclear. Sorry for the confusion.

Your story that posted on Scout still says that Baldwin was arrested. I wish that you would post a retraction to your error. I think that is the least that Donovan Baldwin deserves from you, your paper, and Scout.
