Monday Links (8/11)

Back to work for the second two-a-days practice of the preseason for Georgia. I'll have a mid-day update after talking with players this morning, then a few posts this evening wrapping up the day's development. In the meantime, here are some links for your reading pleasure...

Two good pieces from the AJC over the weekend: Chip Towers talks about DE Cornelius Washington, whose speed and size make him an intriguing prospect, and Michael Carvell gives us a behind-the-scenes look at what it's like for Mark Richt to have multiple rooting interest in college football this season.

Beth Jones of the Athens Banner-Herald writes that UGA needs to take its image seriously, pull together and do whatever is necessary to up its party image status.

Bulldogs fans can relish in the news that Georgia Tech is having trouble selling tickets . I say it's their own fault for not getting involved in the Brett Favre sweepstakes. Look what it's done for the Jets.

Dawg Sports wonders what has to happen to constitute a successful win for Georgia over Georgia Southern. I say, as long as no one gets seriously hurt and no comparisons are made to Appy State, it was a good game.

Former Bulldog Ken Shackleford landed a job with the Kansas City Chiefs.

And, in what I have to consider the best news of the day thus far, this column from Movie Hole (WARNING: Some explicit language) says that a big-screen sequel to Goonies is in the works. And Corey Feldman's agent manages to earn enough to pay rent for another month! Good for him.
