Washaun Ealey looks good to go, according to everyone we spoke to after Georgia's practice, despite the tailback sitting out the first portion of practice with a knee injury.
Ealey said he has a grade 1 sprained MCL.
"So it's really nothing," Ealey said. "Basically a bruise."
Ealey came out briefly in the fourth quarter of the Kentucky game. He only participated on scout team on Tuesday, but that was described as a precautionary measure.
"It's 100 percent. I've been running on it," Ealey said. "I'm just trying to get it from being stiff, just get it back to the strength."
Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo said Ealey was "gonna be good to go."
Running backs coach Bryan McClendon said Ealey would likely start Saturday against Florida, as long as he was healthy. Caleb King is off from his two-game suspension, but Ealey did well in his absence.
"Right now we still don't know," McClendon said. "Especially if Washaun's all banged up, and you don't want him taking that bulk of the work, then he probably wouldn't (start). But right now if everything stays the same and he's good and healthy and he continues on as practice as he has been, then he probably would."

Ealey describes injury, calls it "nothing"

Lets face it these running backs are just busts at UGA. They continue to dance, bumble and stumble when they run. We need to recruit some backs like Clemson. A CJ Spiller would have been nice to have at UGA but we are stuck with these two clowns. Injury prone or getting into trouble with the law is what they do best.
Ease up Ano. Both Ealey and King don't satisfy my idea of the ideal running back but they both are not in the lower tier of the SEC. Like you I would like to see more direct cuts to the hole without the happy feet but with all the delay hand-offs we run the hole closes pretty fast and they are trying to make something from nothing. One of the biggest problems for all running backs in D-1 is realizing that what worked in high school gets ya buried in college. Only the truely good ones figure it out and take what's there until the really big hole opens up. These two aren't at that mind-set and may never be there but please don't compare them to the tiger backs. I live 10 miles from Clemson and see what's there on a regular basis and would not trade ours for theirs.
I admire the fact that Ealey is a fighter and not a complainer, even when his eyes were attempted to be gouged out! He wants to compete. Great game last week. I hope we run all over UF! Go DAWGS!
Have to agree Mayo, Ealy and King have allowed their behavior and lack of work to effect their performance, thus making them less than their potential. But they are far from clowns, or busts. Every recruit is not going to be All SEC, and certainly not a Spiller. It is fans like Anon 9:13 that hurts UGA recruiting with their constant whining and bitching. They attack every coach and player making the environment unpleasant. Who wants to play for people like that?Better fans could help at both the games and on message boards, sports talk shows, etc. Wish they would leave the program and find that perfect team they want (where ever that may be.)
As disappointing as the record is this year, the team is much better than the fans at UGA. They continue to drag the program down. Really sick of the 10% that are immature babies.
Maybe some of you blind homers are satisfied mediocrity. There has been a trend that is disturbing for the last 3 years at UGA. I got news for you guys, its not 10 percent of the fans that are frustrated about the program. If you guys don't enjoy the competition and don't like keeping score then go support you local pop warner and Tee ball league. I would surely like to know that college teams play for championships and that goes for my dawgs as well. I wish people like the post @10:56 would just leave too because if we listened to them then Ray Goof would still be our coach. UGA shouldn't pay 2 million a year for CMR to run a boys home. Please don't blame the fans for our players character issues because that is just plain idiotic .
If Georgia can land this Crowell kid...from what I can tell, he'll make a huge impact
I usually don't post, but Anon @ 11:46 pm....
You can go and be a tech fan for all i care. You obviously have no school pride, no sense of the establishment's history, or any idea of football whatsoever. You should be ashamed if you are indeed a UGA fan and not just some idiot rival trolling.
I agree with Anon...there's a lot more than 10% of us upset with mediocrity and the acceptance of said mediocrity.
I am sick and tired of it. Sick and tired of the Gator tags in my city of Atlanta, sick and tired of all the obnoxious Bama fans runnin' around town. Just plain sick and tired.
You can make all the damn excuses you want Mr. Nice Guys Who Never Say Anything Mean About Anyone, but facts are facts. It has been 30 years since our last NC. Since then Bama, FL, and LSU have won multiple titles, TN has one and Auburn should have at least one. Hell, even Tech has one (kinda).
Richt has been at UGA for 10 years. How much longer do we give him? I say if the sh1t don't improve vastly in 2011, then he is GONE!
Period.
Hey universal remonster..... you can stick it where the sun dont shine for all I care. Im not a techie or a troll and yea I have pride. So please explain to the rest of us who are tired of mediocrity about your excuse....
Its the coaching of technique or play design. These backs incl Richard Samuel can run when afforded the opportunity. Its the constant shuffling and none gets to stay in a rythum. This is the same as when we had Danny Ware, Lumpkin, and Brown. None shined because they never were "the guy". Ware left early and plays for the Giants. If you judge him by his days at UGA, he is similar to these guys. My advice is find a coach who was a running back, can teach ball maintenance, pick a back and ride him. Funny Richt's record is good when we had one primary back (Musa and Knowshown)and not so good we he uses back by Committee
Wow, terrific insight CA Dawg - I had not ever looked at it that way.
