The University of Georgia welcomed its football student-athletes to campus Sunday as they officially reported in preparation for the start of fall football camp.
On Sunday, the team's activities included physicals, meetings, freshmen orientation and a team dinner. Fall camp begins Monday following the team's first media session of the season.
All 105 players expected to report arrived. Recently suspended players junior Donavon Baldwin and senior Jeff Henson were not among the group that reported.
Georgia's first five practices will serve as an acclimation period. On Monday and Tuesday, the team will practice in helmets and shorts, while on Wednesday and Thursday the squad will wear shoulder pads as well. After a Friday practice in shells, the first two-a-day practice will take place on Saturday, Aug. 9 with a full-pads practice during the morning session.
The annual Fans Picture Day will be held Saturday, Aug. 16 at Sanford Stadium. The fall semester begins Monday, Aug. 18. The Bulldogs, ranked No. 1 in the USA Today Preseason Coaches Poll, open the season at home against Georgia Southern Saturday, Aug. 30. Kickoff against the Eagles is slated for 12:30 p.m. ET and the game will be televised as a Pay-Per-View event by CSS.
